Ethos
Mutual respect and inclusion are at the heart of our integrated ethos. Our ethos is not just something we aspire to but permeates all interactions and activities within the Playgroup.
Children can play side by side regardless of their ability, social, cultural and religious backgrounds as a mirror of the living and working space which is vital to our shared future.
Our 9 Educational Principles
- We are integrated
- We are child-centred
- We are co-educational
- We are anti-bias
- We are all-ability
- We are democratic
- We are eco-friendly
- We are healthy
- We are a whole school community

- Burgundy sweatshirt with playgroup emblem
- Burgundy jogging bottoms
- White polo shirt
The Curriculum
At Rowandale Community Playgroup, we believe in and understand the importance of play. Play behaviour is a way in which a child can acquire social, intellectual, creative and physical developmental skills. Through play children can practice skills and come to understand the world around them.
To fully learn through play, the activities must be age and developmentally appropriate.
There are six identified areas of learning and the curriculum we work with has been expertly designed to develop each of these areas.
- Physical Activity
- Language Development
- Early Maths
- The World Around Us
- The Arts
- Personal, Social & Emotional
Volunteering
We have a number of volunteers who help us either directly with the children or with fundraising.
We rely heavily on people volunteering to help our playgroup thrive so if you are able to get involved, even for a one-off event, please contact Playgroup Leader Emma on 92 619325.
